Welcome, I am Stefanie.
While completing my clinical hours towards licensure, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked in adult, community mental health in the City of Milwaukee under supervisors, Craig Stone, LPC (Creative Counseling of Milwaukee) and Abigail Richards, LPC (Sirona Recovery). In February 2025, I transitioned to Ozaukee County working as a Mental Health Therapist at Dreamer Wellness Farm in Mequon, WI. There, I provided Social Skills and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy for children, teens and adults living on the autism spectrum and with mental health conditions under supervision of Jamie O’Connor, LSW. At present, I work part-time inpatient at Rogers Behavioral Health supporting adults, children and adolescents in Brown Deer, WI under supervision of Kristy Amundsen, LSW, SAC-IT.
Prior to my graduate studies, I completed a two week, summer seminar on Addiction and Drug Policy at the University of Amsterdam in 2011. Following graduation from my masters program in 2014, I worked in disability advocacy and human services before relocating to Hawai’i where I worked in intermediate and elementary education and volunteered with various land stewardship non-profits (Center for Getting Things Done, Malama O’ Puna, Evening Rain Farm) from 2016-2019. Additional training includes a 100 hour DBT internship through the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Brookfield, WI under supervision from Kim Skerven, Ph.D, ABPP and Neil Moglowski, LPC in 2021.
I grew up rural, international and in suburbia and come from Western European lineage (Swedish, German, French) and Métis. My ancestors represent outdoor and patient hands (fishing, logging, gardening, volunteering) and were civic leaders and businesspeople. I hope to honor my roots and the Indigenous cultures who called Wisconsin land home and teach me how to protect tradition and cultural wisdom. Outside of my practice, I often dance, listen to podcasts, meditate, cook and gather with friends, spend time with my cats and travel with family.
